The Media and Jihad

 

Every time that there is a major jihad attack, the media responds in the same way. There is now a routine that the authorities tell us:

  • Islam is the religion of peace
  • Muslims that do jihad are extremists and not real Muslims
  • Authorities must watch out for retaliation against Muslims
  • All religions are the same. The Christians are as bad or worse
  • We have not done enough to welcome Islam
  • Concessions will reduce jihad; we need to give Islam more concessions.

    Well I am an ex-muslim, now atheist, Syrian who lives in Syria, I have a Law degree, where we study Islamic jurisprudence related to the contracts of Islam (you can say its mainly the political Islam) as part of our academic curricula, and its where I brought the classification from.

    First of all i would like to say that Muslim have been using this "different interpretations of the Qur'an/Sharia" like the smoke grenade used by ninja fighters to escape being surround in the corner.
    Islam is clearly and vividly interpreted among Muslims, at least with the part considering political Islam. yes there are some different interpretations, yet its either Theological like guessing the actual number of days Mohammad spent on heaven or if Allah can have physical embodiment or not. or its about issues that seems superficial like should women cover their hands and feet as part of the proper Hijab. These different interpretations are all irrelevant to the non-Muslim.

    So going back to the point, yes its really not that big deal to have different categorizing of the sources of Islam as long as you maintain the basic will acknowledge order: 1 - Qur'an, 2 - Mohammad ..... yet it became a big deal when we have a conflict of sources, people might say should the Sunna surpass the Hadith or not, so people who uses the correct classification can say that they are not different things to try to figure out what surpasses what, thy hadith is simply part of the Sunna. that's it.

    Dr. Warner said in his interview with Robert Vaughan (watch from 1:55) that the sources of Islam are: 1 - Qur'an, 2 - Sira : the biography of Mohammad, 3 - Hadith his tradition.

    And by the way, the sunna of Mohammad is not the biography of Mohammad, the sunna means the tradition of Mohammad after he became a prophet (Mohammed as a Holy prophet), the biography (which means literally: Sira) means the whole account of the life of Mohammad from his birth until his death (Mohammad as a human).

    Dr. Warner said that the sources of Islam in his interview with Robert Vaughan (watch from 1:55) as: the1 - Qur'an, 2 - Sira : the biography of Mohammad, 3 - Hadith his tradition.

    And the reason I have to chosen to post this video is because it was the latest one. so I predict to be noticed the most. and since this topic is about a fundamental issue in Islam so i don't it is THAT off-topic

    Crag, there are many different views of the precise collection of sources constitute either the Sunnah or Islamic law. The reality is that different Muslim scholars will give nuanced variations. Essentially, the inspiration of the Sunnah and Islamic law can be all three of the sacred texts of Islam: Quran, Hadith, and Sira.

    Regardless, I'm not sure where in the video you heard Dr Warner mention this, so I would say you are a little off topic:)

    Intolerance is only a social crime if The Lord Jesus says "Thou shalt not" Then it's intolerance. Anything committed by terrorists is something the West caused and to voice anything to the contrary is hate speech. Reciprocal behaviors towards terrorists is labeled Islamophobia. Surreal and postmodern Western self destruction at its best. You want protection from the West join the terrorists. You want incarceration speak up in behalf of Western values and preservation. But change will come this year because the debauchery of the West will dialectically morph into self realization and knowledge. Our idiocy will receive a gratuitous wake up call BEFORE summer's end. We buried our heads in the sand on 9-11. Guess what's visible to your opponent when your head is in the sand Western World?

    Great work by Dr. Warner.
    maybe it is off topic, however I have a point to make about the formal principles of Islamic jurisdiction.
    Dr. Warner says that the doctrines of Islam, that they are the Qur'an and the Sunna and the Hadith...
    Will, the issue here that the Hadith is actually part of the Sunna.
    in other word the main sources of Islamic jurisdiction are:
    1 - the Quran
    2 - the Sunna: which is divided into three categories:
    ----- Oral Sunna: Mohammed`s speeches known as the Hadith.
    ----- "Action" Sunna: Mohammed's acts that Muslims are legally bound to mimic. (e.g. the method of praying)
    ----- Approval Sunna: Mohammed saw someone doing something or saying something, and he ordered the Muslims to follow this act (authorization).

    It is very difficult for a Muslim especially in a Muslim majority county who want to leave Islam as he/she will be killed if other Muslims become aware of their intention. But there is a hope. By adapting the Sanatana way of life they can overcome their dilemma as by adapting the Sanatana way of life they need not change their name, diet, customs or undergo purification ceremonies; or say prayer in an alien language or visit places of worship; all these which attract the attention of their neighbours.     Babs, this site is dedicated to understanding the nature of political Islam. I personally have known of the work and research that Dr. Bill Warner has done for approx. 3 years. Also, I have (on many occasions) relied upon this research; it has truly buttressed my overall understanding of the nature of Islam. I have to say frankly, I'm very impressed that your comments were permitted to be posted, and perhaps you are as well - the unkind declarations you made about Jewish people in my view, should have prevented it. But, I am not the one who makes those decisions here. If I may however, I would strongly suggest that you read and study the history of Islam; Bill Warner has produced and written some excellent study helps. Robert Spencer has written numerous volumes rich in historical detail, and both these gentlemen write in a manner that the ordinary person can easily understand. All I would like to add is, I thank God in heaven for Dr. Warner; I thank God for Bill's vast knowledge, and I thank God for Bill's great courage to unwaveringly share that knowledge with us!

    If you can go after muslims then certainly we should be allowed to speak the truth about jews. Muslims would not be in the west where they are capable of attacking us if not for jews. If I am not allowed to have free speech here then you can remove me from your list. You only help jews by attacking muslims and stirring our people to go fight to kill them for the benefit of jews only and at our expense. I will not tolerate my speech being "moderated" because I speak the truth about the filthy jews..

    Thanks for your report. Keep up the good work. Most non-muslims and many muslims do not seem to know that jihadi terror is prescribed in islamic holy scripture. Jefferson proved as Italy did this month that when faced with a fair fight, muslims will run for the hills.

    These media directives come right from our political leaders. How are we to stop them when we could be charged with a hate crime?
    Bill, I lost my job as a supervisor because one of my employees caught me one day doodling a picture of Charlie Hebdo's 'Mohammed' during a break. When I asked my HR person why I was being fired she told me that one of my employees was charging me with racism. I knew what this was about so I asked my HR person "So, what race is Islam, exactly?" She said it doesn't matter and I argued until I was blue in the face and still I was fired.
    It's a sad world right now when Muslims and their supporters, this girl who complained happened to be a lesbian, can turn you in and have you disciplined. Intolerance is now a social crime.
