The Silence of the Pulpits

If you are even slightly awake about the world news today, it is no surprise that Christians are being killed, raped and brutalized throughout the Islamic world. However, there is a place where you can go and escape the dreadful and relentless details of Christian annihilation by Islam. You can just go to church. For example, this week in Nigeria, Christians were killed. Nothing out of the ordinary, indeed in the world of Christian persecution, this is routine.

And so the response to the murder of Christians is found in nearly every church is …wait for it…, complete silence—not a mention or reference to it or the brutality against Christians that happens almost every day in the Islamic world. This is not a passive silence, because if you try to change it, you will fail. The silence is an active, working conspiracy that goes throughout nearly all of Christendom.

Take a simple example: prayer for the persecuted. From a Christian perspective, this falls under the heading of obvious. Try taking the idea of prayer for the routinely murdered Christians in Nigeria or Egypt to ministers, boards and any part of the structure of the church and see how far you will get. You will get rejection with a myriad of lame and evasive excuses, since they fear to recognize the suffering of Christians around the world. If you acknowledge the suffering, you might ask the question: why are these Christians suffering? Ah, there is the rub. The suffering is caused by Muslim jihadists who are following the Islamic doctrine of jihad against the Christian as found in Koran, Sira and Hadith. Islam is the cause of suffering of Christians, as well as Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and atheists.

STOP!!! We cannot say those things! Facts are the new hate speech, so we cannot speak about the jihad against Christians. Therefore, we get no prayers for the persecuted, because it would lead to talk about why the murder of Christians keeps happening. And that truth would lead to being called an Islamophobe, so we are not going there. Result: silence.

It is ironic that the Wall Street Journal, a FINANCIAL newspaper, has run an article about the silence in the pulpit concerning the suffering of Christians. We live in a time of moral inversion when Christian leaders are chastised for their moral bankruptcy by money men. It is supposed to be the other way around.

Actually, there are few religious leaders left in America. Instead we have chief-executive-officers who manage a 501 c 3 institution that has meetings on Sunday. In too many cases, Christianity has devolved into an hour’s meeting that is supposed to make you feel good for a week.

This 501 c 3 corporate mentality is another one of the roots of the denial of the Christian suffering. If you are willing to see the doctrinal roots of the ongoing murder of Christians by Muslims, then you might have to speak about it from the pulpit and that could be seen as political speech. In spite of the fact that there has never been a 501 c 3 revoked because of political speech by a minister, the imagined loss silences ministers. Hmmm, if a minister is worried about the IRS revoking his 501 c 3 then who is the minster serving? Caesar or Christ?

Now you may not be a Christian, and so it might seem that there is nothing here for you. But in reality we all have pulpits. Are we using the suffering of Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, women, gays, and intellectuals caused by Islam as a topic of conversation with those around us? Who is is comfortable with bringing up anything negative about Islam? To tell those facts about Islam is a social crime and you will be accused of being a hater/Islamophobe. So most of us remain silent about the evils of political Islam, and we are just like the ministers—silent in our own pulpits. Christians and non-Christians share the fear of being insulted as bigots and Islamophobes.

It turns out that all of those who oppose any social evil will be hated. Think about it. It takes a massive amount of power to put into place any societal doctrine, such as multi-culturalism and political correctness. The government, universities, many churches, synagogues and the media have become enforcers of multi-culturalism and political correctness. They are very powerful and believe that their dogma rules all peoples.

They are also full throated apologists for Islam. Now it turns out that their actual knowledge about the doctrine and history of political Islam is close to zero and Muslim-brotherhood-approved, but that is no problem. The Establishment just says that those who find fault with Islam are bigots and they hate us.

The silence of the pulpits is the greatest aider and abettor of Islam in the US. No one serves and advances Islam better than the silent ministers. They have abandoned their duty of courage in the face of persecution, but the rest of the flock still looks for moral leadership from them. Islam triumphs when Christian leaders do not condemn the murderous evil of political Islam.

Even worse than the silent ministers are those who go to “interfaith dialogs” and smile while the Muslims assert religious and political dominance over them. The nice, oh so nice, Christians and Jews show up to tie, while the Muslims are there to win, and they do.

Christians need to follow the example of Jesus and willingly suffer the condemnation by the Establishment and fight against the political Islam that murders Christians. Said another way, Christians should demonstrate courage and sacrifice to support their cruelly murdered brothers and sisters.

We cannot defeat political Islam until we get Christian boots on the ground. Do the math. The pulpits must become a source of courage and knowledge and stand up for Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and all others who suffer under Islam’s persecution today and for the last 1400 years.

It isn’t just about religion; it is about the survival of our civilization.

If they had their way, muslims would censor this as “hate speech’ under the guise of “freedom of expression”, like the lady in the subway attempting to spray over a pro-Israel poster.

When the majority of clergy do not speak against the killing of the preborn in our own parishes, are we surprised they do not mention our Christian brothers and sisters suffering around the world. It seems including the preborn in the ‘prayers of the faithful’ is supposed to suffice. Lord God Almighty please help our fellow Christians where they face the evils of Islam and Communism.

    Well, it’s a difficult topic!

The pulpit is a place of dialogue and not of judgement. Most of the priests I know are affraid of talking about it, because Islam is a political thing and in the modern world Church and State are two different things.
The scandals that have shaken the Church to the ground, make it almost difficult to show purity and truth, so that people might not judge the clergy with the words of the Gospel ” Doctor, cure yourself”(Luke 4,23).

    Blessings,

    A priest.

As a clergyman, I agree. But please remember in your dialog, that intense amounts of preaching on positive subjects such as the Person of Christ, is the very salt making it impossible for Islam to ingest Christianity whole. And I agree, ministers need to be more vocal in their response to killing in the name of religion.

As an American Indian Christian, our experience shows Christian leaders are just a capable of mass killings (35 million American Indians killed in North and South America by Christians). Jihad is a human problem as it is now currently an Islamic one. That being said, the Islamic Jihad must not be allowed to continue and should be ostracized everywhere it is found. Islam is not a religion of peace, as it’s proponents claim.

Christianity has the honesty to look upon its own failures with remorse, but unfortunately it also acknowledges no guilt. Islam has an evil, imperialistic founder who believed in violence toward the weak and ignorant and enforced itself upon the people of Sinai. And because Islam=Submission, they will not be happy until we all submit. Personally I am tired of people coming here from Europe and Asia and commanding us to submit. We have received Jesus into our Indian Nations (after 500 years of bad evangelism) and we will only submit to Jesus.

    Blessings!

Maybe, protestants aren’t talking about it, but catholics are talking about it. I was in our local church paper. Our church has hosted christians from the middle east and helps them survive by buying the products they make.

The vast majority of today’s Christian clergy are the modern scribes and pharisees. They have bowed down before Satan’s Altar of Political Correctness. The true leaders of Islam have, themselves, given their souls to evil and are using Satan’s wisdom and might to control the rest of us.

We are not contending with human wisdom and strength, but with Lucifer himself, who fancied himself as sitting on Almighty God’s throne. He is so convincing that a third of the heavenly angels followed him.

When we contend with Islam we are in a fight for our very souls. Sadly, the majority of humanity, including most Christians and Christian leaders and pastors, value their physical lives more dearly than their eternal lives. For that reason they are terrified of the jihadists.

Until we are ready to call on Jesus Christ, the true Master of this world, to intervene we are lost. Is that not what we are supposed to be asking for when we pray, “Thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven”?

Speaking of suffering, you should take note of the believers in North Korea or even mainland China. In Afghanistan and Iran, its the same. Death always knocks on every Christian’s family door. Yes, someone should speak out , and help ,and we do in our church. In Manila, Philippines we are blessed to be able to speak out and send help , against these wickedness!

    @topeka…..
“How can we share this with our clergy – when they will call us haters for questioning even one iota of the Liberal agenda?”

Your clergy and priests have joined themselves to teh world.

    Was it ever different ?

Your God, is in your heart, not in your Church.

If you want empowerment [and salvation!], read God’s word [i.e. your Bible], pray, meditate.

If you read and meditate upon the word, you will understand what is happening in the world.

    Isaiah 51:7
Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

  9. Charles Finney wrote: “The time has come for Christians to vote for honest men, and take consistent ground in politics or the Lord will curse them…Politics are a part of a religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to their country as a part of their duty to God.” …”God will bless or curse this nation according to the course Christians take in politics.”

This is not 1776, when America was permeated with Biblical moral virtue. America is currently permeated with “progressive political correctness,” which requires relinquishing Biblical moral virtue. In order to restore the Republic as our Christian Founders intended, requires the core Biblical foundation which was the motivating factor in how America’s Founders confronted EVERY issue, whether social, fiscal, national, and international. In order to restore the “American Way of Life” for our descendants, American citizens, those who are also citizens of the Kingdom of God, must begin to honor and obey their Lord’s call to become the Salt & Light they are called to be, as “ambassadors” for their King, by preaching not only John 3:16, but what Jesus admonished in the same breath through verse 21. Instead of limiting “preaching” only 1 Timothy 2, they need to proclaim 2 Timothy 4 as well.

Many timid Christians have been deceptively silenced, because they are unsure of their foundation in Christ. Progressives have successfully used the ploy of false charges that Christians are being offensive, and intolerant, and worse, have fallen prey to the mistaken claim that Christians should not judge. This reveals many Christians are not founded on the Word of God, do not wear in the full armor of God, and are disobedient to their Lord’s call to be the Salt & Light of the earth to boldly preaching the Word of God and reproving the world of sin. Imagine if Jesus, His Apostles, and Paul were apathetic and did not “reprove the world of sin?” (2 Timothy 4:1-5)

H.W. Prentiss created an outline for nations that described a progression: “from bondage to spiritual faith, to courage, to liberty, to abundance, to selfishness, to complacency, to apathy, to dependence, back to bondage.”

From the Pulpit to the Battlefield: Unlike 1776 when “We the people” went on the offense and and kept tyranny on the defense, tyranny, now in the form of progressive political correctness, is again on the offense and “we the people” of Biblical moral virtue are now on the defense. Perhaps your educators or Pastors neglected to teach you about the Black Robed Regiment, Rev. John Wise, Rev. John Peter Muhlenberg, Rev. Jonas Clark, Rev. Nathaniel Whitaker, and that nearly all minutemen were Christians. Will American Christians today accept that same challenge?

  10. I’ve been kicked out of two churches for this very reason. Calvary chapel of montabello and calvary chapel golden springs. I hope someone gets through to them. Please pray that they will listen to God!

Mac, who posted above, glad to hear you are taking ACTION. I assemble with a Messianic body of believers and there, silence is not a problem when it comes to Islam which I know for now is an exception. They are 501 also. But many overly cautious accountants I believe convinced the Christian congregations to apply for 501 and now they unrealistically fear telling the truth as the article points out.

I have experienced this 1st hand. I’m so surprised that my Church friends who know that I care about everyone, speak truth, and serve others, now think of me has a hater. All because I talk to our church leaders about letting the church know the truth about
Islam and the dangers of Sharia law taking over our courts, banks, our children’s minds, etc.

Topeka, I know exactly what you are talking about. The church I attend will not even encourage the members to vote!!

    Dear Bill Warner

Its good that you have touched an important topic. There is a lot of material to write on this topic. I understand that, because of the Involvement of US in War in different Islamic regions, the sentiment of clash of religions across Islam, Christianity and Judaism has increased. Being the resident of the persecutions area of South Asia I may say that, if such wars prolong continuously in the future they may drag us to a unavoidable huge war across the nations. The power of finance has shifted the dynamics of preferences. If Petroleum producing Arab Countries are the major investors in US Treasury and US prefers Finances over any kind of Spirituality or Faith, and same the condition in other Stats, how can one say that every things sould remain in peace. The Godliness of materialism has shifted the preferences of love and relationships. That is an organized war but no one is ready to fight it.
I hope we will have more discussions on the topic. Thanks

    Bill,

Speak truth to power, and watch your back.

I’m surprised you have not been forced underground.

How can we share this with our clergy – when they will call us haters for questioning even one iota of the Liberal agenda? Most of the prosperous “churches” are no more than the social clubs atheists claim they are.

I’ve been in churches where you cannot discuss the unemployment rate, the budget imbalance, the immigration problem, and the education problem… and those are “bible-believing” Bible-thumping churches. Try the MCC and a “gay” pastor, and you cannot get past hating America… and don’t use the words “Western” and “Civilization” unless you are trying to make the argument that we are responsible for all the evil in the world.

Great article – sorry for the rant – but I HAVE opened my mouth – which usually results in “Shunning the Unbeliever” – and which usually leads to being lumped in with the drooling psycho who lives in a camper in the woods with 15 rottweilers and enough ammo to take out a navy seal team…

“First they came for the communists, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for me – – and there was no one left to speak out for me.”

Not only are the pulpits silent, they are busy with interfaith dialogue because after all we all pray to the same God, don’t we?!

    Bill,
what Wall Street Article do you refer to in paragraph #5 above?
Thanks for a concise statement of the situation. I recently read the analysis that we never called the Nazis- extremist Nazis, and we never called the Shintos- militant Shintos. Bu,t we apologize and call Islamists, simply good Islamists or the bad kind, the extremist Muslims.
